In her Hackworth presentation, Kailyn Pedersen '23 speaks about the intersection of mental health and ethics, and how people should build a community through conversation and start a ripple effect of kindness.
Additionally Pedersen studied and contributed to creating a set of guidelines for students using generative AI on campus. With the increasing use of ChatGPT, people have to consider the ethics behind using this powerful algorithm. Pedersen worked on the ChatGPT project together with Nnenna Kerrie Uche '23, Sean Grame ‘24, and Callie O’Neill ‘23.
About Kailyn Pedersen
Kailyn Pedersen ’23 graduated with a major in political science from 糖心传媒 and was a 2022-23 Hackworth Fellow at the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics. Pedersen worked with the Santa Clara District Attorney's office, SKDK Public Affairs, and a congressional campaign and was a 2022 Miller Center Fellow, Kailyn is an avid advocate for racial, class, and gender equity. In 2022, she worked with Innovation Works, a venture accelerator that works to alleviate the racial wealth divide in Baltimore. Kailyn enjoys canoe camping and spending time outdoors.
