ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½

The Accounting Department and Advisory Board awarded Brian Baer, Class of 1985, the ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Accounting Alumnus of the Year Award at the Accounting Awards Banquet on May 18, 2023.  Brian Baer graduated as an accounting major from ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ in 1985. He has spent his entire career in the audit practice of Deloitte, other than leaving for a year to get an MBA from Northwestern University.  His roles have included client service partner to some of Deloitte's largest technology clients, partner in charge of the San Jose office's audit practice (2004-2012) and he currently devotes half his time to a national role within Deloitte, helping manage conflicts that arise between their audit and consulting services.

Brian has kept close ties to ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ since graduating, leading Deloitte's recruiting efforts there for many years.  He has led fundraising efforts from Deloitte's partners for ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½'s accounting department each year, and was the leader in obtaining contributions from the firm and its partners to support the construction of Lucas Hall in 2007.  He has served on the Accounting Department's Advisory Board since 2008.
